English Translation (Saheeh International)

  1. “Say, ‘O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You strip sovereignty from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.'”
  2. “You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night. And You bring the living out of the dead and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account [i.e., limit].'”

In Ruqyah Shari’ah (Quranic healing), Surah Ali ‘Imran (3:26–27) is revered as a powerful Passage of Honor, Reversal of Hardship, and Protection from Oppression (Ayat al-Izz wal-Rizq):

1. Breaking Spiritual Oppression, Humiliation, and Black Magic (Sihr)

  • Spiritual Principle: Victims of severe black magic or envy often suffer from sudden loss of status, blocked provisions, professional destruction, or a deep sense of humiliation and helplessness. This verse affirms that honor and power belong exclusively to Allah, invalidating any psychological or spiritual degradation caused by adversaries.
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited during Ruqyah sessions to restore spiritual dignity, break heavy blocks on livelihood or career, and lift the psychological weight of oppression.

2. Relieving Severe Financial Distress, Anxiety, and Panic

  • Spiritual Principle: Financial ruin and anxiety are frequently targeted by spiritual blocks or life trials. The divine declaration that Allah provides without limit (“Bighayri hisaab”) reassures the heart during times of crisis.
  • Ruqyah Application: Used as a daily therapeutic Wird and supplication for individuals struggling with overwhelming debt, poverty, or chronic financial blockage induced by stress or spiritual strain.

3. Cultivating Complete Trust and Emotional Stability

  • Spiritual Principle: Recognizing that all outcomes—whether honor, provisions, or transitions of state—are governed by the Owner of Sovereignty eliminates fear of created beings and anchors the soul in absolute peace (Sakinah).
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited before rest or during moments of vulnerability to fortify the mind against panic, despair, and dark whisperings.

📜 Tafsir / Commentary ▼

Classical mufassireen explain the supreme sovereignty, absolute control over honor and disgrace, and provisions highlighted in these magnificent verses (Ayat al-Mulk):

1. Absolute Control Over Sovereignty, Honor, and Provision

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Imam Ibn Kathir explains that these verses teach the believer to surrender all affairs completely to Allah, recognizing that He alone controls power, authority, honor, and humiliation. No human being or unseen entity (such as Jinn or sorcerers) can grant honor or inflict permanent disgrace without His decree. Furthermore, the phrase "Biyadihil-khayr" (In Your hand is [all] good) establishes that even during trials, hardships, or tests, divine wisdom encompasses absolute goodness.

Tafsir Al-Qurtubi: Imam Al-Qurtubi notes the profound imagery of alternating night and day and bringing forth life from death, demonstrating Allah's limitless power over creation. He emphasizes that calling upon Allah with this specific supplication breaks human reliance on worldly status or power, anchoring the heart entirely in His boundless provisions and grace ("Tarzuqu man tashaa'u bighayri hisaab").
