English Translation (Saheeh International)
- “Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the race of the day, [in search of it] rapidly, and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, to Him belongs the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
- “Call upon your Lord in humility and privately. Indeed, He does not like transgressors.”
- “And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.”
In Ruqyah Shari’ah (Quranic healing), Surah Al-A’raf (7:54–56) is utilized as an exceptional Passage of Divine Majesty, Heart Alignment, and Protection Against Spiritual Corruption (Ayat al-Hifz wal-Tawheed):
1. Neutralizing Corruption (Fasad), Magic, and Negative Energies
- Spiritual Principle: Black magic and sorcery are forms of spiritual corruption (Fasad) introduced into a person’s life or body. Verse 56 explicitly prohibits causing corruption after reformation and commands turning to Allah with fear and hope.
- Ruqyah Application: Recited during Ruqyah sessions to cleanse living environments, bodies, and minds from the toxic spiritual residue of magic, envy, and harmful demonic interventions.
2. Cultivating Humility (Tadarru’) and Emotional Balance in Supplication
- Spiritual Principle: Effective spiritual healing requires a broken, humble heart (Tadarru’) that relies completely on Allah rather than temporary worldly remedies.
- Ruqyah Application: Used as a framework for patients to structure their daily personal supplications, teaching them how to balance fear (Khawf) of the affliction with intense hope (Tama’) in Allah’s mercy.
3. Restoring Psychological Security and Eliminating Fear of the Unseen
- Spiritual Principle: Realizing that “to Him belongs the creation and the command” reassures the afflicted person that no Jinn, sorcerer, or evil eye can execute a command or cause harm except by the explicit permission of the Master of the Universe.
- Ruqyah Application: Recited to eliminate chronic anxiety, spiritual panic, and obsessive fears of unseen forces, instilling deep inner tranquility (Sakinah).

1. Protection Against Nightmares and Unseen Harm Through Ayat al-Kursi and Divine Remembrance
Classical Context: Scholars of Ruqyah Shari'ah often couple these verses with protective adhkar because recognizing Allah's absolute control over the sun, moon, and night cycles provides a profound psychological anchor for individuals suffering from spiritual oppression, insomnia, or night-related fears.
📜 Tafsir / Commentary
Classical mufassireen explain the cosmic majesty, etiquette of supplication, and prohibition of spiritual corruption highlighted in these verses:
1. Absolute Sovereignty: "To Him Belongs Creation and the Command" (Al-Khalqu wal-Amr)
Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Imam Ibn Kathir explains that verse 54 establishes Allah's supreme ownership and authority over the entire universe: "Alaa lahul-khalqu wal-amr" (Unquestionably, to Him belongs the creation and the command). He owns everything He created, and His legislative and cosmic commands govern all affairs without exception. This serves as a reminder that spiritual healers, sorcerers, or external powers hold no independent authority; only the Creator of the heavens and earth holds dominion over illness and cure.
Tafsir Al-Qurtubi: Imam Al-Qurtubi highlights the etiquette of supplication (Du'a) taught in verses 55 and 56—calling upon Allah with humility (Tadarru') and in privacy (Khufyah), balancing fear of His punishment (Khawf) with hope in His mercy (Tama'). He notes that spiritual health is maintained by avoiding corruption (Fasad) on earth, which includes black magic, oppression, and sins that ruin the heart and society.
