In Ruqyah Shari’ah (Quranic healing), Surah Ali ‘Imran (3:1–6) is recognized as a powerful Passage of Omniscience, Protection, and Total Subjugation of Hidden Illusions (Ayat al-Hifz wal-Ilm al-Ilahi):

1. Exposing and Neutralizing Hidden Magic (Sihr Khafi) and Secret Plots

  • Spiritual Principle: Because verse 5 explicitly declares that nothing in the earth or heavens is hidden from Allah (“Laa yakhfaa ‘alayhi shay'”), any hidden black magic, buried knots, or secret envious plots directed against a person are fully exposed and rendered powerless before His sight.
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited during diagnostic and treatment sessions for patients suffering from mysterious ailments, hidden blockages, or chronic unexplained symptoms to bring divine light and exposure to covert spiritual interference.

2. Safeguarding Physical Well-being, Health, and Reproductive Protection

  • Spiritual Principle: Verse 6 highlights Allah’s exclusive control over human creation in the womb (“Forms you in the wombs however He wills”). This is frequently utilized in specialized Ruqyah for safeguarding pregnancies, reproductive health, and protecting against spiritual interference targeting lineage or fertility (Sihr al-Arham).
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited over expectant mothers or those facing unexplained reproductive hurdles as part of protective and healing supplications (Wird).

3. Anchoring the Heart in Absolute Certainty and Calm (Sakinah)

  • Spiritual Principle: Recognizing Allah as Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living) and Al-Qayyoom (The Sustainer) relieves the human heart of anxiety, helplessness, and fear of unseen forces.
  • Ruqyah Application: Incorporated into morning and evening protective routines to fortify the mind against panic, intrusive dark thoughts, and spiritual vulnerability.

📜 Tafsir / Commentary ▼

Classical mufassireen explain the supreme theological foundation and divine omniscience established in the opening of Surah Ali 'Imran:

1. The Divine Attributes of Life, Sustenance, and Total Omniscience

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Imam Ibn Kathir explains that these verses open with the Ism Al-A'zam (The Greatest Name of Allah) through Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living) and Al-Qayyoom (The Sustainer of existence), which are also embedded in Ayat al-Kursi. Verse 5 highlights absolute omniscience ("Nothing is hidden from Allah in the earth nor in the heaven"), while verse 6 emphasizes His absolute sovereignty over human creation and form ("He who forms you in the wombs however He wills"). This serves as a direct refutation of any hidden sorcery, evil intention, or secret machination, as everything is completely transparent before Allah.

Tafsir Al-Qurtubi: Imam Al-Qurtubi notes that the mention of the divine books (Torah, Gospel, and Quran) establishes the continuity of divine guidance, culminating in the Quran as Al-Furqan (The Criterion distinguishing truth from falsehood). In the context of spiritual protection, reciting passages proclaiming Allah's absolute awareness and control shields the believer from hidden harms, doubts, and spiritual manipulation.
