Surah Taha (20:105–107)
In traditional Islamic spiritual healing manuals (Ruqyah Shari’ah) and folk Tibb practices, Surah Taha (20:105–107) is specifically cited as a specialized treatment for boils, cysts, abscesses, lumps, and hard swellings (referred to as Fo’arer Tabiz / remedies for boils):
- The Metaphorical Analogy (Tafa’ul): Just as Allah describes pulverizing massive, hard mountains (al-jibal) into flat, smooth dust (qa’an safsafa), traditional practitioners utilize these verses as a spiritual supplication asking Allah to break down, shrink, soften, and completely dissolve hard subcutaneous swellings, tumors, or painful boils under the skin.
⚗️ Preparation Method
The verses are traditionally recited or written out with spiritual intent over pure water or therapeutic oils (such as olive or black seed oil), which are then gently applied or massaged over the affected swelling or boil.

- Exegetical (Tafsir) Insights
The Dissolution of the Mountains on Judgment Day:
Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi explain that these verses describe the cataclysmic events of the Day of Resurrection. The firm, unyielding mountains—despite their massive size and weight—will be blown away like dust, leaving the earth completely flat, barren, and leveled.
نسفاً (Nasfan) means to uproot and pulverize something completely until it is blown away by the wind as fine particles.
قاعاً صفصفاً (Qa'an safsafa) describes a flat, smooth, and uniform plain where there are no hills, valleys, dips, or elevations.
