English Transliteration

Wa in yamsaskal-laahu bi-durrin falaa kaashifa lahu illaa Huw; wa in yuridka bi-khayrin falaa raadda lifadlih; yuseebu bihi man yashaa’u min ‘ibaadih; wa Huwal-Ghafoorur-Raheem.

English Translation (Saheeh International)

“And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. And if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.”

In Ruqyah Shari’ah (Quranic healing), Surah Yunus (10:107) is revered as a premier Verse of Absolute Tawheed, Relief, and Healing (Ayat al-Kashf wal-Tawakkul):

1. Shattering Despair During Chronic Illnesses and Black Magic (Sihr)

  • Spiritual Principle: Victims of long-standing illnesses, severe spiritual blocks, or demonic oppression often fall into deep despair, feeling that their suffering will never end. This verse establishes that no hardship is permanent unless decreed, and only Allah holds the key to its removal (“Falaa kaashifa lahu illaa Huw”).
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited repeatedly over patients during Ruqyah sessions—especially while placing the hand over areas of pain or distress—to renew hope, break psychological despair, and affirm that recovery comes exclusively from Allah.

2. Blocking Envious Obstacles and Closing Doors to Harm

  • Spiritual Principle: When people attempt to block a person’s livelihood, health, or success through envy (Hasad) or malicious plotting, this verse guarantees that no one can repel what Allah has destined to give (“Falaa raadda lifadlih”).
  • Ruqyah Application: Recited over Ruqyah water, olive oil, or as part of a daily protective Wird to safeguard professional endeavors, personal well-being, and family life from envious interference.

3. Cultivating Deep Inner Peace (Sakinah) and Certainty (Yaqeen)

  • Spiritual Principle: Realizing that all outcomes are governed entirely by the Most Merciful (Al-Rahim) relieves the heart of anxious overthinking and fear of the unseen.
  • Ruqyah Application: Used in spiritual counseling and personal healing to soothe anxiety, eliminate panic attacks, and anchor the soul in absolute trust in divine wisdom and grace.

"And know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with anything, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had prescribed for you. And if they were to gather together to harm you with anything, they would not harm you except with what Allah had prescribed against you."

📜 Tafsir / Commentary ▼

Classical mufassireen explain the absolute sovereignty of Allah's decree and the exclusivity of His power in this profound verse:

1. The Exclusive Power to Lift Hardship and Bestow Blessings

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Imam Ibn Kathir explains that this verse serves as a definitive confirmation that all harm (such as illness, poverty, magic, or the Evil Eye) and all good (such as healing, provisions, and mercy) are entirely in the hands of Allah. If Allah decrees an affliction to touch a person, no creation in the heavens or earth can lift it ("Falaa kaashifa lahu illaa Huw"). Conversely, when Allah intends to bless someone, no power can block, delay, or repel His bounty ("Falaa raadda lifadlih").

Tafsir Al-Qurtubi: Imam Al-Qurtubi emphasizes that this verse cuts off all false hopes in created beings, amulets, sorcerers, or worldly remedies, directing the heart to rely solely on the Creator. He notes the closing attributes—Al-Ghafoor (The Forgiving) and Al-Rahim (The Merciful)—reminding believers that trials are often followed by immense mercy and forgiveness when met with patience and sincere reliance.
